Maurizio Torrigiani
Chef Maurizio Torrigiani, 40, is currently a professor of Technical Cooking Practices at the Professional Institute of Culinary Arts and Hotel Management “F.Martini” di Montecatini Terme. He has worked in the kitchens of a variety of four and five-star hotels, including the G.H. Bellavista & Palace in Montecatini, Villa Parisi (Castiglioncello), Grotta Giusti (Monsummano), and the G.H. Ambasciatori (Montecatini).
Chef Torrigiani gained experience catering with the Fattoria Medicea (Montecatini Terme) and the Fattore Party (Prato), and has had many other noteworthy experiences in his professional culinary career, among which:
- Successfully completed classes specializing in: Chocolate and Artistic Decoration, Classic and Formed Chocolates, Modern Cakes, Restaurant Desserts, Working with Marzipan, Flower Cakes, and Sculpted Vegetables.
- Member of the Federazione Italiana Cuochi.
- Collaborated on the books Il Libro di Cucina (The Cooking Book, Hoepli editore 2004), and Il Libro di Cucina Vol. 2 (Hoepli editore 2005), and Diabete e Buona Cucina (Diabetes and Good Cooking, Edimedia).
- Organized cooking courses for jail inmates.
- Worked at the restaurants Forassiepi di Montecarlo (Lucca), Il Turco (FI), Ippodromo Se sana (Montecatini Terme), and the Ippodromo dei Pini (Follonica).
- Organized cooking courses for adults.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Collaborated with DeLonghi S.P.A. on promotional material for their microwave ovens
