Alessandra Buglioli di Monale
Alessandra Buglioli di Monale was born and raised in the kitchen. While she was growing up, her mother was the chef of the restaurant in the Hotel Castello di Verduno, which Alessandra’s grandfather Battista Burlotto opened in 1953. Since 2000 she has been the head chef of the restaurant at the Castello di Verduno, and also teaches the culinary courses they offer.
Alessandra has worked in the kitchens of Helmut Rachinger (Austria), Robert Fredric (Paris), Edward Thuson and Mara Jernigan (Vancouver, CA), among others.
Notably, her career has also involved:
- Promotional and organizational work with Slow Food’s Salone del Gusto.
- Guest teaching at the Professional Institute of Baking and Pastry Arts in Turin.
- Organizing an educational wine event in Helsingin.
- The Mescolanze Food Festival of Rovereto in Trentino Alto Adige.
- The preparation of an edible wildflower dinner in conjunction with Slow Food.
- Collaboration with the association “I Ristoranti della Tavolozza”.
- Creation of tastings and dinners promoting traditional Piemontese cuisine.
- Member of “Le Donne Del Vino” and responsible for organizing gastronomic events in Glasgow, Rix and Moscow.
- Teaching traditional Piemontese cuisine at Italcook, the Institute of Gastronomy and School of Regional Cooking in Le Marche
