Andrea Alimenti
Chef Andrea Alimenti is the executive chef of the restaurant Acquamatta in Capolona near Arezzo, and partner of the same restaurant together with Paolo Pasquini (maitre d’) and Leonardo Motolese (chef). He received his chef’s diploma at the Aurelio Saffi Florence Hotel School in 1983. Since then Chef Alimenti has gained experience abroad working on a Carribean cruise ship and catering for private parties in New York. He has taught culinary courses in Sydney at the ANA Harbour Hotel and at the Dursit Thani College in Bangkok.
Two of the restaurants he worked in in Florence received a Michelin Star as did his own restaurant Acquamatta, which has also received excellent reviews in gastronomic guide books.
Of particular interest in Chef Alimenti’s career:
- He has collaborated on several books including Toscana:Via Dei Sapori, Cento per Cento Ricette di Talento, Who’s Who of Chefs, and the recipe book used by Grana Padano.
- His work has appeared in several magazines, among which: Zafferano, Cucina e Vini, Grande Cucina, and Wine.
- His restaurant Acquamatta has been a member of the Jeunes Restaurateur D’Europe since 2002 as the Tuscan delegate.
- A professor at ItalCook, the Institute of Gastronomy and School of Regional Cooking, Andrea has also taught cooking courses organized by the Confcommercio in Arezzo.
- He has participated in and organized a variety of events, including the launch of Marco Columbro’s line of biological products (covered by Gamebero Rosso), the stand at Casa Reale D’Inglaterra in Arezzo, the Risto Expo in Erba, the Confagricoltura of Rome, and others.
- Chef Alimenti has appeared on television programs like Gambero Rosso, Casa Alica and Tg5 Gusto.
- Andrea is currently organizing the international program “Sapor Bio” with Marco Columbro in Viareggio, promoting the use of biological products.
